National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) will take place November 21-23, 2019. We will travel as a delegation leaving on Wednesday, November 20th. This year the conference will be held in Indianapolis, IN, with the theme “Blessed, Broken, Given”.
The conference provides an excellent opportunity for youth and adult participants to learn more about their faith through keynote speakers as well as workshops and sessions. Other features include a large exhibit area with Catholic resources, religious orders, colleges, and universities. There are also many interactive experiences that include interacting with bishops from across the country. Reconciliation and Adoration are offered throughout the event. The highlight of the conference is the closing liturgy; it is an awesome experience to celebrate the Eucharist with thousands of other Catholics.
Hotel and Travel Information
In years past, the diocese has sponsored a trip to the conference and we want to continue that tradition this year. We have reserved 6 buses in the hopes of filling each one. We will travel as a group and stay in the Hampton Inn Indianapolis NE/Castleton, 6817 E. 82nd. St., Indianapolis, IN, 46250, which is approximately 15 miles from Lucas Oil Stadium and the Convention Center. The hotel provides a continental breakfast with the cost of the room.
Bishop Medley at NCYC
We will once again have the opportunity for you and your youth to meet with the Bishop during certain times in the Thematic Park. More information about that will be coming soon.
Each parish will register as a group with the diocese. Registration and deposit fees will be sent from St. Thomas More for the entire group. The cost for the diocesan package this year is $490 per person. This cost includes the conference registration fee, housing for three (3) nights, transportation (via coaches), breakfast, lunch on Thursday, t-shirt, insurance, and night security at the hotel. It DOES NOT include the cost of 5 meals. You can bring snacks or extra money for snacks along the way.
The following forms must be completed:
Each participant will need to pay a $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve a spot. This fee is due by June 14 and will be submitted to the Diocese of Owensboro.
All chaperones are required to complete the Safe Environment Process for the Diocese. Please contact the parish office if you are in need of safe environment.
